I visited the CIBC Hillside Mall branch today regarding a service charge that I believe should not have been applied to my account as a student. I had already visited last Saturday, and one of the representatives told me to come back on a weekday because the manager could reverse the charge. Absolutely horrible experience here trying to get a BANK DRAFT made in USD. These are the most INCOMPETENT staff I have ever encountered at a bank!
If it were not for a couple of friendly professional and helpful frontline customer service reps, I would not use this branch. The management is condescending, impatient and appear to want to be of as little help as possible. The attitude is very apparent. Maybe my bank account doesn't have enough 000000's. Not impressed the few times I have required assistance beyond the frontline staff.
Last week, I made a bank draft with a teller named Priya. I was quite skeptical at first about how it worked and whether Priya would be able to help me, since Sally is usually my go-to teller. However, it turned out to be an amazing experience. Priya was incredibly helpful and explained everything to me with great patience and clarity. I truly appreciate her professionalism and kindness—definitely a 10/10 experience!
Very disappointing experience at the Hillside Mall CIBC branch. I went in to deposit a CIBC bank draft, but the teller refused to process it and lied to me, saying I had to go to the issuing branch (Mayfair Mall). I was told it would take her too much time to handle it and that it would only take me a few minutes to drive there.
