There's nothing here that's not good... ...and there are many things that are excellent. My family and I have tried many things on their menu, and have yet to be dissapointed by any of them. They have good salsa and great jalapeno ranch that both come with the chips at the beginning of the meal. This is one of those rare places that I would honestly suggest just getting whatever it is that looks good because you're probably going to like it.
Great Austin Location While the food here is good, I would say the thing that draws me to Chuy's is the Mexi Martinis. They have the best in town in my opinion. Also the queso and jalapeno ranch dip are worth the visit.
Good food but always packed! The food at Chuy's is good stuff, although I think the regular red sauce they use on their enchiladas has gotten hotter over time! It's a favorite place for us to go at lunch time, but the wait for dinner makes it almost impossible to get in unless you get there very early, and the parking can be very difficult to come by. Their chips are some of the best in Austin (thin, very crispy and obviously fresh) and it's hard to stop eating them even when your meal comes!
great atmosphere, OK Tex-Mex If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this isn't the place for you. Chuy's has some good Tex-Mex selections, but isn't the best in Austin. The biggest draw for Chuy's is the atmosphere - my daughter loves the ceiling that's covered in car hubcaps and each room has a different decorative theme. Good Mexican Food The food here is pretty good, standard Mexican fare. The service is average, but the best thing about Chuys is their green sauce. Some call it Creamy Jalepeno, others Creamy J, still others call it Ambrosia. The stuff is amazing
not anything special Looking for awesome mexican or tex-mex? Chuy's is not anything special. I would find a local taqueria or go on down to Cafe Adobe. Chuy's is from austin, but lacks any originality with their food.
ok Great margaritas, best queso, good fajitas, enchiladas, and chimichangas; shrimp tacos and quesadillas are not on the menu but they will cook them if you ask; greasy, but who expects healthy at a Mexican restaurant? Must try the creamy jalepeno sauce! Hardly authentic, be sure to dodge the wall-to-wall yuppies.
Creamy Jalapeno Dip.....YUM!! Huge portions....authentic Tex-Mex food. Their special sauce served with fresh chucky salsa (both green and red) is a creamy jalapeno dip. It is a mixture of ranch dip, and spicy jalapenos. Fun atmosphere, and you can find it by the HUGE artistic FISH outside.
