New York might have made the classic hotel bar famous, but it's Tribeca Grand's Church Lounge that revolutionized it. Dead center in the hotel's open triangular atrium, the Church Lounge is an intimate gathering place in the day and turns into a key destination at night. The classic American menu offers everything from light appetizers to three-course meals, designed exclusively by the Tribeca Grand chefs. Church lounge also features a wealth of signature house cocktails.

This place is AWFUL – I have been to bars all over the world and never been treated as poorly as I was by this staff at this joke of a trendy lounge. Even though the place was empty, the bouncers kept pushing people into a corner. I met up with friends there who were there for a party of 25 people. I did not know most of them and they would not allow us to buy drinks either with cash or a separate tab if we wanted to "hang out" in the same area as the party, instead insisting that we put all our drinks on one tab and settle ... read more
No respect – It can be the trendiest place in the world but when you can't go into a place that treats their customers with respect, you know you'll have to pass on it.
Tribeca Grand brunch – Great food; lovely setting. We visited the restaurant for a Sunday brunch and we had fun. The food was great; especially the shrimp salad. The line for omelettes was a little long but they were delicious. The screening room kepy my 7 year old occupied and she had a lot of food to shoose from. My only complaint was with the mojito; not great and expensive.
Hot Hotel Bar – A $12 drink has become a standard at the more chic places so it didn't surprise me when the bill came. But I guess you pay for the priviledge to sit under the soaring ceiling of the hotel. A good place to hang with friends and people watch as long as you don't mind dropping some duckets.
Church Lounge Catastrophe – I would like to make a rating of this place, but I'm afraid my friends and I never made it inside. We were told they were only letting people in as they came out. We stood in line about 1/2 hour of standing in the front of line and swarms of people had left but still no entrance. The lucky few who whispered the right thing to the red headed door person "Meagan" got entered in before us. I think they need to pay our gal "Meg" a bit more since obviously she needs to make extra cash by letting these ... read more
Its chill! – Being a New Yorker, its nothing i've never seen before. I like the fact that you can go chill and relax w/ friends or a date. The bartender service is shady. If you have big breast then you get quick attention. If not, just be patient. If you feel like you didn't receive decent service. Don't tip. And don't trip. <p> The music, that night was good though. And the place wasn't even close to being crowded.
Hip spot in Tribeca – The setting is very attractive (it's a huge lounge in the middle of the new Tribeca Grand hotel). The prices are of course expensive, but the drinks are good. The service is lacking, and it wasn't even crowded when we went. I went after work one day, and it was pretty empty. There were some older hotel guests and some wallstreeters, but I hear that it is much more "sceney" later on.
GREAT CHIC HOTEL BAR – Hey ... it is in a chic hotel ... so you know exactly what it is going to be like (expensive, suspect service) and what the crowd is going to be like (maybe snooty, sometimes) before you ever go in ... if you know all that and still want to go ... this is the place to do it!
Don't Bother – The service is terrible! If you want to spend $8-12 per drink, there are plenty of other shi-shi places that serve you. The bartenders (all men) spend more time lighting candles, cleaning the bar, looking at their hair, serving women trying to look like models, then tending to patrons. The decor is nice, but the crowd and service extinguish any pleasantries you first experience when walking down into the lounge. This place tries way to hard to be cool. If you're not from New York, don't bother, and if you are ... read more
