Dr. Smytties took out a stage 4 metastacized melanoma from my brain. He got me into surgery within a couple of days and explained everything to my family and helped to calm their fears. I believe he saved my life and I am living a normal life at this time, thanks to him.
(This is the very very short version of what happened.) My mother had a HUGE tumor in her brain (with no symptoms whatsoever!) and she was miss diagnosed by Dr Smythies. He said her tumor was benign.... so instead of scheduling for surgery right away, she had to wait for about 3 1/2 weeks before she was able to have surgery. I was referred because I have several issues with my back and SI joints. None of which were discussed. Instead, his reply was he suggested bariatric surgery. I was appalled, and when I asked for him to repeat what he said, he proceeded to tell me again how that was his opinion and that it would alleviate most of my issues. I am 5'8 have autoimmune issues, chronic pain, and weigh 264 lbs. He was completely unprofessional and I will not be going back regardless of the referral.
