I had an L4-L5 fusion one year ago. The screws placed were too long. This caused nerve damage. I had to have a second surgery (by a different surgeon) to remove and replace them with correct size. Now I'm back in PT again, but the nerve damage may be permanent. I'm in constant pain and worse now then I was before the surgery. July 10, 2025

My elderly mother who has stage 4 cancer is scheduled to have a hip replacement next week. Dr. Hetman would not clear her without an EKG. So my mom went to see her and had the EKG in June. Fast forward to today, and she gets word from her hip surgeon that Dr Hetman was requiring her to see a cardiologist. Compound fracture broken ankle, emergency surgery. Was prohibited from using a scooter and used a walker and hopping. That wrecked my knee on my "good" leg. Eventually first surgery deemed unsuccessful and called for a second surgery. Sought second opinion. Second opinion agreed another surgery required as screws used in first surgery were too short. I found Dr. Seligson to be arrogant and condescending and stuck in practices long ago outdated.
I was referred to this so called doctor years ago and he told me my back was so bad nothing could be done. I told my reg doctor to send me to anyone except Kiefer and thats exactly where she sent me.. Against my better judgement I went to see him. He claimed yes we will fix you right up. He didnt remember me. I asked him whats changed and he looked confused. I said you told me 20 years ago my back was too bad to work on and he said, well we cant fix you but we can lesson your symptoms. I was in so much pain I was still going... read more
Dr Gruber has done amazing surgery on my vp shunt. Jonathan has done amazing at yelling at me (while standing over me). They both decided I didn’t need my shunt and refuse to put one back in unless I go through lumbar punctures again. My back hurts from all the ones I had. I never overdrained with my shunt. I feel like my head is going to explode. But I don’t need it?
Dr Gruber was the rudest Dr I have ever been too!!!He even asked why I am in a rest home? He asked where my pain was. Setting in my wheelchair with a huge brace across my back I couldn’t point to the exact spot.But I said I guess the pain would be where my L4 has a broken bone.And also L3 & L4 are both bulging.He said he doesn’t know if putting cement in that bone would stop my pain.I told him I can barely lift my left leg.He said that could be a pinch nerve.To top it all he asked Bobby why he can’t take care of me @ home?He... read more
Referred to him by Dr Moss . He is very personable and knowledgeable. Treated my back pain and it is completely healed after about 9 months . Recommend him very highly. Rick park
