A few months ago I saw Dr Boutsicaris for help getting diagnosed officially with hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. It was an incredible frustrating, demeaning, condescending experience. She is horribly ill-informed, spouts misinformation and tried several times to discourage me from finding answers about my issues (POTS, MCAS, EDS). Saw Dr. Boutsicaris for an evaluation. She is a very nice person, kind and caring. But she is a terrible diagnostician. She did a thorough exam, but not a thorough history. Instead she told me what she thought happened to me, even though I denied it. Saw another doctor, who did do a thorough history and came up wuth a different diagnosis. EMG and MRI evidence clearly disputed Dr. Boutsicaris' diagnosis. I do not recommend this doctor.
Dr. Boutsicaris was absolutely amazing. I had never been to a rheumatologist before and had so many questions. She took the time to go through each one of my questions and come up with a plan for my next steps. She spent a little over an hour with me at my consultation and was so calm and patient. I will continue to see her and definitely recommend her! Also, the staff at the office in Evanston were wonderful and so respectful as well.
