I am posting this review because I cannot find who to talk to concerning Office staff at Dr. Christian Gastelum’s office in Whittier. I have been patient of many doctors through PIH for well over 30 years. This is absolutely the worst staff I have ever dealt with Dr. Christian Gastelum is a wonderful doctor, but I can’t get into see him because he doesn’t have a staff that can make his appointments. So I need to be clear that this review is NOT FOR THE DOCTORS in this office. I saw Amirpour and he was great! There are several people in this office. HOWEVER, the office is very inefficient. I called and called to reschedule for weeks after two appointments. I had call numerous times for the second one as well. No one picks up the phone literally, ever. Dr. Gastelum has been a Godsend to me. I had a rare cancer, and he sent me out of network to UCLA Medical to an expert surgeon specializing in my rare Medullary Thyroid Cancer and literally saved my life. He has been very efficient in my post surgery care as well. I would highly recommend him!
I read on healthgrade such wonderful reviews about this doctor, but neither he or his office staff reflected the reviews. The staff is not friendly, they seemed completely unorganized especially when I was done with my appointment. Very incompetent. When I called to make my appointment I went into great detail about what I was looking for in a specialist, did NOT get what I was looking for at all!! Dr. Gastelum is a great dr. I’ve seen other Drs for my diabetes and all I did was get sicker. I went back to Gastelum and I feel a lot better.
