I was very disappointed with my appointment. The provider was dismissive of my concerns and did not listen when I shared my insurance coverage information or current clinical guidelines about GLP-1 medications for weight loss. Despite my BMI being over 32, (which qualifies for treatment according to FDA and major medical organizations) she insisted I must have a BMI over 35 and refused to order the medication. I felt unheard, invalidated, and frustrated. This is not the patient-centered, trustworthy care I expected.
