The food was excellent. The food at the taste testing, and the food at the wedding reception were equivalent in taste and nearly exactly similar. The complementary salad beforehand was very good. The two servers were very good at wanting to help and asking if I needed anything else and bringing out the cake slices on our plates. Our wedding was 4 weeks ago, and I'm still having people tell me how awesome the appetizers were, how great the steak was, and how good the chicken was. That is such a delight to hear. The service was also 10 out of 10. Guests never had to wait long for food or appetizers. The team was well dressed, presented well, happy, caring, and going above and beyond with their service. I just have to rave about how happy I am that my sister chose Chowhound Gourmet to cater her wedding at the beautiful venue The Oakley!! We all know how stressful planning a wedding can be but this was the one thing that we felt that we would not have to stress about, and we were right! We signed our contract with Chowhound as they were a required vendor for us and I wish we would've waited. At our tasting, Chef John was lovely; but he did forget half the things we asked to try out, regardless we were impressed with the food and presentation. We signed two years before our wedding in 2026. A mistake. John's Mother, Lucretia, was in charge of everything communication wise with couples and creating menus and invoices. Our wedding catering was exceptional!!! We will be using chowhound again! Every person at our wedding told us that we did an amazing job picking a place that isn’t standard wedding food and we’re raving about dinner!
