Not recommended. A lesson in over priced, over dressed waffle house... great staff though. Not recommended, in fact, a strong warning. For good steak, do not go here. The soup du jour was blue crab biske. It came to the table at room temperature, had no flavor with a hit of spices, a cream, cold mess. It was similar to a cold can of Old Bay Chunky clam chowder but without potatoes, any seafood nor flavor. Maxes I recently visited the Chop House at Mendenhall for dinner. The food was averaged and way over priced. The service was extremely poor. We waited over 20 minutes for the table to be cleared and to receive a bill.

Rubbery ny strip steak at $40.00? Too expensive for the quality of food, service was great, but I wouldn't go back by any means. Very dissapointing experience!
Never Again Not much to say hear as I was always taught to say very little if all is negative. Undoubtedly the worse quality, at the highest price, with the most obnoxious unfriendly staff we have ever experienced. After our experience there leaves little wonder as to why this firm is selling and closing so many of their restaurants and lawsuits pending.
Not a favorite I have heard soo many raves for Chop House Grille I was excited when one opened near us. We went and maybe it was an off day but I have had better steak at Applebee's. It did not live up to expectations and was very expensive. I did like the feel of the restaurant and the way it was decorated. I loved that the menus had wooden covers it was really classy.
Great for a Special Occasion We went here for an anniversary and really enjoyed ourselves. The food is wonderful, with a lot of unique choices. It is pricey, but one of those places where the extra money is worth it!
Great for a Date Night! My husband and I went here for a date night out (without kids) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The prices are higher than I would normally spend for dinner out, but the food was worth the price! We would definitely save up to go again. The atmosphere and service was world class!
Elegant My department had our Christmas luncheon here last December. They limited us to three entree selections and three dessert selections, but I truly cannot complain. My filet mignon and chocolate truffle cake were decadent, the service was impeccable, and our dining room was comfortable like an rather exclusive club. The prices are beyond my usual budget, but this would be worth saving up for.
