This team has been completely unresponsive to serious issues in our apartment. We’ve been without hot water for over a week, there’s a continuous ceiling leak causing water damage, plaster is hanging dangerously, the kitchen floors are separating, and the downstairs consistently floods with a strong mold/mildew smell. Choice has been a really bad experience. It takes Alan weeks if not months to resolve simple issues and he no-show and no-calls all the time after setting times to come do maintenance. That wouldn’t be such an issue if everything in the building wasn’t so cheaply made. Like what good is a terrace when all the furniture is broken, paint-peeling discount ply wood. Unresponsive when trying to get your security deposit back.
Choice NY Management has been holding my full security deposit for weeks since moving out and has not acknowledged any of my emails, phone calls, or messages asking when they plan to return. By NYC law, security deposits need to be returned in full within 14 days of tenant moving out (or discounted for deductions if the deductions list was communicated within the 14 day window).
