The medical record documents a “new injury,” but this was never verbally communicated to me during the visit. Before we left, Dr. Davis Kelly told me that my child’s arm injury had completely healed, that there was no new appointment, and that we did not need to return to the hospital. Her demeanor throughout the interaction was extremely dismissive, cold, and unprofessional. Her facial expressions and manner of communication made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable when we were simply trying to obtain information about our child’s medical care.
