Dr. Desai and his team, Marilyn Hanson and Jennifer Vondereau, are the best anywhere. In the early days leading up to my surgery, I was reluctant and terrified, but the closer it got, the more ready I became. This was due in large part to The Team. Nurse Marilyn Hanson (the coordinator) was the “Parent” figure who answered all my questions, no matter how ridiculous. I would give Dr.Desai 100 stars if I could. I have never met a high profile surgeon or physician who is that humble, genuine & kind like him. He embodies the meaning of EMPATHY. He listens to all your concerns & he will transparently convey the outcome of the procedure. Dr. Desai is a top notch, multi-talented & extremely skilled surgeon. If I could give a zero I would!!! How can a doctor refuse surgery on my father because he “might” die on the table. Is it your job to save someone? We would’ve had a 50-50 chance.meanwhile we are going to Duke to start over because my dad is dying.....
