Buffet for dinner had very long waiting lines. You wait and pay in one then go stand in another one and wait a long time again to get a seat. Food quality is poor except for the salad bar. That was good. Not worth $21 per person. For dinner the next night, we tried the steakhouse. Withput reservations you will wait over 45 min. Expensive menu but it was of good taste. I ordered med cooked prine rib. It was rare enough to actually taste blood. My husband ordered med rare. It was basically raw. He couldn't eat it. Still mooing... read more

Place has always been fun. Hotel is a former Shilo in I used to stay at when the casino was a tent in the parking lot. They did build some nice suites but most rooms are the old dumpy Shilo rooms. The negative reviews are most likely those. Chinook is to “Reno” as Ilani is to Las Vegas. Both Chinook and Spirit Mountain has some serious competition, more so when Ilani’s hotel opens. All Chinook has over the Ilani at the moment is entertainment and the beach.
