My husband and I went here last Friday evening for dinner. I fully expected it to be dank and dirty like most buffets I've been to, but quite the contrary. The place was clean and actually smelled good. Unfortunately the ladies room did smell bad, and there were paper towels all over the floor. Great Sushi – I eat there during lunch and the food is great. I am not sure of the bad reviews, but I love eating there. They have a sushi bar as part of the buffet, and it is really good. The price can't be beaten for the quality and the choice of food. Try it for yourself and you'll like it.
2nd visit was decent, 1st was awful, nothing special. – I decided to try this place again after hearing positive reviews from friends. We went at 6pm on a Thursday. This time it was reasonably better than the first time. I tried several things I had the first time and a few new items. It was decent. Definitely better than my first visit. China Buffet is LOUSY This place is LOUSY. We were drawn in by the neon lights surrounding the building that can be seen from the highway. We went on a Friday at 6:30pm (should have been prime time for hot fresh dishes). The buffet even looked promising at first glance and we were excited. So far, so good. Coming from an area where Chinese buffets existed in just about every neighborhood, I was skeptical about visiting this one. However, I was pleasantly surprised upon visiting. The food is pretty good and it's a clean restaurant. I'd recommend it.
Some of the food was cold – The restaurant is nicely decorated, nice entrance, friendly staff, sitting a bit crowded, I like more space for my big family, needs more spacing. Food selection was great although some of the steak and some of the food thats supposed to be hot temperature was cold.
Great Selection, Value, and Quality – We've been visiting this restaurant every couple of months for a year. The selection is awesome and varied. The cheesy crab-bake is out of this world and the sesame seed pastries are soft and sweet. For a little extra cash, you can have huge crablegs as well. Great Buffet - Disregard Bad Reviews – The above bad reviews are totally inaccurate. They must have been placed by competitors. My wife and I have eaten at the China Buffet over 150 times and we drive a great distance from Virginia to eat here. We have never encountered empty trays, cold food that should be hot, rude wait staff or the other inaccurate things mentioned. The staff is especially helpful and attentive. Going Downhill Fast – This used to be our favorite place to go for a quick, inexpensive dinner. The food was above average for a Chinese buffet and we could get in and out quickly. Over the last two years, however, the number of items on the buffet has increased while the quality of the food has steadily declined.
