RecommendedWe have used them for decades as well, for both wood and coal stoves. They are friendly, efficient, responsible, and reasonably priced. They fixed a big problem for us last fall... We are grateful! They do get busy, but planning ahead and calling early works pretty well.
We've used John Shaw for decades to install wood-stoves, fireplace inserts, and clean chimneys in various residences; and he always does complete and professional work... for a fair price... in a most personable manner.
John Shaw must be running a gangbusters business to be able to ignore people wanting help from him. I left a dozen messages with him asking for a callback, and NOT ONE was returned. Since my experience with him, I have heard from a dozen others with similar experience. I would be concerned if I were you that if he DID return a call, he might not show up, and you would spend exasperating time chasing him.
called on Monday it's now Thurs that water is coming down the chimney where you repaired and reuining my basement tiles and can't get a call back.

Pat, sorry it took a while to get back to you. It is our busy season and we are getting about 35 calls a day. As we discussed, I did the repair in Jan. of 2013, over 19 months ago, we repaired your chimney and parts of your roof completely. We have sent you a refund check for the full amount.
