Dive bar with decent dive bar vibes but for some reason only gave wifi to people who stay in the rooms, which is a hilariously bad business decision (since there’s no reception there). Food was meh. Food might have been better if I had more drinks, and would have ordered more drinks but without wifi it was best to just move on.

We came to Chillagoe with a large group for a week and couldn't be happier with the service at the Cockatoo. Rob went above and beyond to help cater for the group's needs. The food was great and the beer was cold. Rob even cooked a Paella on the last night, which was delicious. The location is great, with a nice big covered outdoor beer garden area where you can watch the magnificent outback sunsets and see a few friendly wallabies while enjoying dinner. Excellent wifi speeds and connection strength via Starlink.
