What started as an emergency visit turned into a 2.5week stay. We stayed in 3 different departments total and had no complaints. The PICU floor nurses and doctors were absolutely phenomenal. From professionalism to just having empathy and understanding, we never felt like we were being rushed or put through anything unnecessary. Communication and encouragement from all of the staff, even members we had never been assigned, was top tier. We had two of our kids go through ENT surgery at Children’s, and I honestly cannot say enough about the experience. From the moment we walked in, every single person we encountered—security, volunteers, nurses, the anesthesia team, surgeons, and the child life specialists—made our family feel so informed, cared for, and genuinely comforted. I used to train pediatricians to be family- and child-friendly, so I have a pretty strong radar for medical professionals who treat kids but don’t truly understand kids. The nurse Sam in 6 west is phenomenal!! She is such a joy to be around and works from her heart. She cares about her patients and does a fast and efficient with fulfilling the patients’ wants and needs. We love having her treat us!!
Where else could the children of Detroit, Dearborn and down river go, get treated and meet Batman?
Horrible !! Took my son in here because I heard it was such a good hospital and every concern I had was brushed off as I was paranoid . They didn’t so much as even look at my son besides the initial triage . We sat there and waited for a urine test and then were sent home with what they assumed was an upper respiratory infection . Turns out after going to a different urgent care he had the Flu which makes a big difference in treatments .
