Provider specific review - Dr. Deborah Huang - We took our under 2 year old child due to lethargy, vomiting, and a high fever to the emergency department over the holiday weekend. We were not given the time of day by this provider. She did not ask any HPI questions, did not do any physical exam on the child, she walked into the room and said 'oh she looks fine, you will be discharged' and then warned of febrile seizures and on her way out the door asked if we had any questions but was gone before we could ask anything. Nurses and Doctors were very attentive and took excellent care of my daughter. All of the staff we encountered were polite and friendly.
We love wellstar/MCG pediatric ER! Our son is special needs and has struggled with seizures and respiratory issues. This is unfortunately the 6th time we’ve had to use the ER in the last year and we have always been heard and helped! The Dr’s and nurses are kind and knowledgeable. We are so thankful for a Peds specific ER here in Augusta!
Nasty, nasty place. Urine was left in our room from a previous patient and had and unknown liquid in the chair. So, room was not cleaned. I was referred from urgent care for my son to get fluids. They did not give him fluids despite diarrhea, vomiting, and losing 10% of his weight. They did one x ray during the entire 7 hour visit. My son developed a fever and it was not treated and we were told to “bring him back if it got worse”. I wish I could give them a zero. The children’s ER does not seem to be as attentive as it used to be. My grandson was seen yesterday, and we were concerned about the appearance of his stool and other symptoms he was experiencing. We brought in his diaper for the doctor to perform a culture to rule out any medical issues. Both the student and the doctor appeared to identify what they believed was wrong.
