Dr. Jokela and Liz are miracle workers. We adopted a frenchie (Marty) that came with some health issues and obviously some heavy baggage. Within the first 2-3 months, there was random aggression with our other dogs, then us and we couldn't even pet him. We worked to heal the physical stuff, but the mental stuff was much harder. Without CVBC, we would have likely given up on Marty. We learned how to be patient with him and that it wasn't a matter of 'fixing' him but understanding him. We tried everything before being referred here (meds, multiple dog trainers, etc). The combination of education, training, expertise in medication management, and ongoing support that Dr Jokela and staff provided has made such an incredibly positive impact on my dog (and myself). She is truly an expert in the field and is extremely passionate about what she does! I never thought he could be this happy. We are forever grateful for her help.
Dr.Jokela has given me so much guidance, support, empathy and the added help of medications. Dr.Jokela’s knowledge of different medications and how they can compliment each other in each individual animal has been so valuable to help each animal be the best they can be. Dr. Fiia J. is a dog behavioral goddess dressed in everyday clothes! We adopted a rescue beauty - soon learned he chewed and ATE everything. $3,600 foreign body removal surgery (10mos old). Dr. J had our entire family on a livable paths within 2 weeks! Yes - the work is ongoing. But, I was at my wits end dealing with this dog that I LOVED!
