Great Happy Hour Specials! Good Thai food. The wontons with jalepenos are very good. Good happy hour specials. Portions are generous. I usually take over half my plate home. Very nice that you can request no MSG.
Overcompensates in price what it lacks in flavor After reading excellent reviews for this Thai joint in Uptown, I decided to give it a try. Let's just say I experienced sticker shock when I realized that a bowl of soup costs $14!!! I don't really care that it was a generous serving, I simply don't believe soup should ever be above $7-8. The glass noodle salad I had with it completely lacked flavor. However, the wait staff was very nice.
I love this place! When you want Thai food in Minneapolis this is the place to go. I love their wide selection of menu options and they allow you to choose what meat or non-meat you want them to put in your dish. This is great for vegetarians. You can ask them to hold the MSG too. The ambiance here is very nice. My brother orders the green curry dish and I order the stir frys. They also have nice vegetarian spring rolls with peanut sauce. I've enjoyed everything that I've ordered!
Great Appetizers & Drinks The number one reason to go and vist Chang Mai Thai is their appetizers & drinks. While I think the meals served here are good, the appetizers are amazing. The appetizers are also inexpensive and will fill you up. When you pair those appetizers with a funky cocktail you end up with a combination that will be sure to keep you coming back for more.
Wonderful food in a comfortable atmosphere This restaurant serves excellent Thai food in a beautifully decorated space in Calhoun Square. Service is fast and friendly and the staff is knowledgeable. Prices are rather high, but the portions are good for the entrees and they have a nice selection of drinks. Parking can be difficult to find in this busy Uptown location unless you're wiling to pay to park in one of the ramps. Overall, a good experience.
