My body has difficulty processing oral medications. I usually have to take a higher dose of medications such as narcotics for pain or get an injection for the medication to have the desired effect. The second day after surgery when all the nerve blocks and deadening had worn off, I had excruciating pain from knee replacement surgery and was crying all day.
