I ordered the new joint retainer kit for a 51 GMC truck. I ordered this well ahead of the memorial day weekend so we could drive the truck while the in-laws were in town since it is their truck. The picture shown on the website showed the new U-joint saddle retainer with bend over ears and four socket head cap screws. When I received them they sent regular 1/4- 28 cap screws with a standard 7/16” head, which you cannot tighten as it will bind onto the saddle and a closed end wrench will not go over it. Ordered a muffler for my chevy and it was the wrong when I got it the inlet and outlet was the same sizes
Although my recent experience with Chevs of the 40’s is not consistent with past transitions, my latest is rather upsetting. On January 29, 2026 I placed an order with Chevs of the 40’s (for a part that was neither custom or specialized), and as of yet have not received the requested and paid for items. What added to my frustration is the fact I have been unable to satisfactorily resolve this matter. My purchase of a short shaft water pump took a week to receive it installed started to leak immediately from the weep holes. Called was told a pump would be sent out to replace bad one. I waited a week before I received an email requesting I return pump. I called they said I would have to pay for a new one to send out immediately. Or send bad pump back and when they received they would send the replacement out after inspection. All at my disconviniance of time and money and missing car shows I was committed to.
