My family and I went to Chester V's this weekend and were truly upset over the quality of the service and food. The server did not approach us to get our drinks until we had to ask her if we'd get service. After placing our order, it took us 20 minutes to get our food. At this point, it had been 45 minutes. The food was, to be frank, not good. The cole slaw was sour and tasted like it was bad. I ordered the chowder and it tasted like a mix of pea soup and ham and potatoes but not like chowder. As far as our food, we make most items in house and have variations from standard recipes. We make our coleslaw with vinegar and jicama, so it is unlike a traditional creamy coleslaw and may come off as sour to some people. I had their Saturday Prime Rib special last night. One of the best hunks of meat I've ever had! Perfectly cooked and seasoned.
First time here and came for the fish fry. It was fabulous! My fiance had the perch, which was good but a tad bit salty. The pub chips were amazing and of course the beer selection was crazy! Our server was running around like crazy but definitly knew what she was doing. We never had to flag her down and she was polite. We will definitly be back to try more!
