OK let's review CHESAPEAKE BUS AND REPAIR, Eric Epstein.
DON'T DO IT, just don't. OK, follow along. I saw, bid on, and won a 1999 Ranger with 28K miles on Ebay. I did the fact check, according to the serial number in the ad. WHAT I FOUND WHEN I DROVE 100 MILES TO GET THE TRUCK WAS DIFFERENT. The serial number in the ad was not the serial number of the truck. The pictures of the truck interior and bed were not of this truck. BUT, as I drove this far....I drove the Ranger and it seemed fine, although dirtier and not the truck advertised, but I bought it. I gave him the cash and went to MVA, where they told me that the Florida paper he gave me was not original and not good for title work. So I went back and he actually said it was MVA's fault and my fault for not letting him get the title work done for me. Now, understand that I wanted the title work done that day, before I took the truck so I, 1- would not have to drive an extra 200 miles and take a second day, and 2- so that I was assured that the title was marketble and good.
SO.......I want back and , against my better judgement, had him do the title work. Now, understand, HE OFFERED TO GET THE TITLE WORK DONE and NOW OFFERED TO DELIVER THE TRUCK. so I said, again, against my better judgement, OK.
So the next day comes and he has a friend, who has a tag and title shop get the title work done, which he did. HOWEVER, HE THEN REFUSED TO DELIVER THE TRUCK. He then said he could have it delivered for $200 plus fuel at $4.40 a gallon and the truck gets 6 miles to the gallon. That would have been $350. I was furious, but, he had my money, and the truck was now in my name, so I took another day (this is day three now), and drove to get it, but at a storage yard now. He wouldn't even give me the guys name and phone number at the storage yard. He texted me at 8:30 am the next day and told me the guy would meet me at 10:15, which meant I could not even get on the road until I had some one to drive me the 100 miles in 1-3/4 hours. He also told me that I should be nice to him he is a big man with an attitude. YES he really said that.
So, I went there and got the truck..........but now, as I drove it home the check engine light came on. Code said it had a major evap leak and a bad O2 sensor. BUT WAIT, HE JUST HAD IT INSPECTED AND SOLD IT AS SUCH.
Took it to my mechanic who had to fail the inspection because the evap can line was disconected. So I had to spend another $200.
So, as I said, don't do it, just dont do it.
