I have a friend who told me about Sheldan House and the great things they do for mental health. This friend mentioned there was a fundraiser they were doing and that I could watch it online with them! They even had a fashion show!! Before Sheldon Clubhouse, I was featured on the local news station as a psych patient who was missing and off her meds while the FBI was looking for me as an endangered person. Now, I am a finance committee member and guidance board member working with local communities to raise funds and awareness. Every one of the 125 colleagues here are my friends and I have hope for the future as a leader among leaders.
