Solid meal The standout dishes here were definitely the beef course and the malasadas for dessert. Loved how the beef was prepared - kobe-style beef and braised short ribs! The meat was tender and the accompanying sauce was perfect. The rest of the meal was pretty average - nothing was too impressive but nothing was terrible.

Classy Plate Nice classy place. Tiny portions. Chef Mavro is a real person - a vert talented Parisian who came to Hawaii, worked at one of the big 'otels and then after a few years realized that Honolulu was lacking a good traditional French restaurant.

The onaga I had was exquisite and tender, and the chocolate marquise with a green tea mousse was intriguing. Portions aren't huge but a series of amuses between courses make up for it. Very personable, too - the chef's wife saw me dining by myself and came over to ... read more
