Romantic Serene Water View - Love It ! – My husband and I have gone here a few times for special occasions and love it. Very quaint and secluded, with fabulous food and service. It's a gem in the woods and we can't wait to revisit. I've heard they are now open after the fire and have maintained the same cottage feel on the exterior and have chosen to update the inside more. Either way, this is a really nice place to take your date or sweetie, will definitely revisit for years to come.

BEST DINNER AROUND!!!! – Just my opinion but, This is a quaint restaurant with great food and wine. We were seated by the window with a great view of the lake and saw about 7 deer come next to our window. What a treat!

Great dining experience – WOW!!!! I just dined at the Chef in the Forest in Hauser Lake ID. What a wonderful experience. Food was great and unlike most gourmet restaurants you get an ample amount of food that is very reasonably priced. Our dinner of a New York steak and Steak Diane with the trimmings was superb. Service was friendly , attentive and not rushed. We sat back by the fire place, very cozy and romantic. Next time we will sit by the front windows with a view of the lake. The restaurant is not in the middle of a mal... read more

don't buy the hype – I have lived in the area for years and everybody kept telling me how great it was. I was not impressed the food was not very good for the price they charge. good thing they don't advertise they would probably go out of business from the ammount of bad reviews. I think some back wood redneckks with money to burn decided it would be a good place to have their kkk meetings good luck finding the place. oh and the seating horrible dinner for two was $150.00 go to the white house much better food and cheaper.

best in the inland northwest – Even most locals don't seem to know that this gem exists. I've never seen the place advertised and it is not visible from any main street or highway. Its business is purely word of mouth. Tucked into the woods just off of Hauser lake in Idaho (near resort town Couer d'alene) it has a dark, warm, hunting lodge style interior. The food can best be described as northwest gourmet. Very creative versions of duck, beef, lamb etc. sauces to die for! Love their pate' appetizer spread on toast. My favor... read more
