On the way out to eat in Belleville, IL ' my friend suggested that we stop for the monthly wine tasting event at the Cheesekeeper. What a wonderful treat! The staff/owner was gracious, the free six samples (3 white & 3 red) were wonderful, and the small store was charming.

A friend had ordered several Christmas gifts from them to be delivered. She asked one of the friends how was the wine that was supposed to be included. The friend responsed that there was no wine. Same response from the other two friends. She called Cheese Keeper and they were not very apologetic and said she still got her value as her workers would have looked at the cost of the basket and put in the correct amount of merchanise. Its like a little taste of a big city in a small town. Im sure the selection could be bigger but its adequate. There are plenty of wines to choose from at any price range and the coffee is to die for. I also like the selection of gourmet cooking items. Its a fun little shop.
This place is a treasure. The employees are always nice and they have a huge selection of gourmet items at reasonable prices. Their coffee is as good as it smells.
Informed, experienced, sophisticated, open and friendly'are all adjectives that define this quaint well stocked establishment.
