I would strongly advise avoiding this practice (Sterling Mental Health) as well as Dr. Cheema. The front desk individuals are rude, abrasive, and make only bare minimum attempts to communicate with patients. Calls are unanswered, appointments cancelled without notification, no emails/texts/written correspondence to speak of. I have been seeing Dr. Cheema for years and he is a bit of a disappointment. His advice is ill-advised at times and he has prescribed medications that have negative interactions. When discussing side affects and negative consequences of his choices for me, he has disregarded my complaints as anomalies. Dr. Cheema is an excellent Psychiatrist. He is sometimes a man of few words, which is good because it lets you get things off your chest. He will counsel you at appropriate times with good advice. He considers your budget when prescribing medications. I’ve been his patient for over a decade. I’m happy, more than ever. I’ve seen complaints about his office staff being rude and impatient. I have been seeing Dr. Cheema for 6 months and he decided after less than 6 months of treatment, that now that I am level with my bipolar, that I can wait a month to see him again, yet my stable mood is constantly depressed and it gets bad at times. I feel like he is not willing to truly want to help me. I have been explaining my visits since the beginning to my girlfriend who has a bachelor's in psychology and she told me she thought from the beginning he was not a good fit for me.
Dr. Cheema is very kind and mild mannered. He listens to all the things you have to say. He is quick to respond to medical needs as needed. I have been seeing him for many years and he always treats me as a unique individual and not just some patient.
