Started by Chef Maneet Chauhan, known for her exploits on TV shows such as Iron Chef and Chopped; Chauhan Ale & Masala House is a stylish gastropub which serves a unique blend of Indian street food and southern cuisine. Being a Punjabi, Maneet infuses her culinary traditions with those of her new home (Nashville) to create a wide range of multicultural dishes such as the chicken pakora wrap and the masala pork belly. Having had several "so-so" encounters with Indian food previously, I didn't know what to expect from this restaurant, but I was cautiously optimistic. Enjoyed Valentine's dinner last night with my wife. Without doubt the best genuine vindaloo this Englishman has experienced in Nashville in 17 years! Excellent food, excellent service, excellent garam masala beer, highly recommend for an eclectic Indian themed experience though your non Indian food lovers will find other menu options that will suit them.

The food and service were very good. If however you are a full sized adult, you probably want to request a booth, as the free-standing tables have these very small, rock hard steel chairs that must have been made for skinny kids. Very uncomfortable, especially on a cold winter night like tonight.
