It's a cool old building. Unfortunately there are @$$h013$ who leave their stripped down bicycles, and refuse that they've dragged out of dumpsters, in the hallways. It's a shame because Avenue replaced the carpets recently as well as painted the halls and there are stains, and stench from the garbage being dragged in already. This kind of feels (and smells) like a homeless shelter but without rules or management. Nobody cares 10 degrees in the building, nobody cares how you feel, they only care about the rent!
Don't let Avenue Living fool you. This building is a dump. Drug use, smoking and drinking in hallways, doors propped open to let strangers in, many visits by police, homeless sleeping in hallways, theft of laundry and from cars, gang spray painting, very little cleaning or vacuuming by Avenue Living, and more. 3rd floor ceiling leaks often from rain and snow melt. Total cave-ins have happened even after they "fixed" it. Only benefit is being close to downtown and cheaper rent. I spent 16 months there. AWFUL.
