Our experience with CharterWest Bank was extremely frustrating and costly. The mortgage advisor handling the buyers’ financing dragged the sale of our home out for approximately two months while repeatedly giving assurance that the financing was progressing. The buyers were ultimately pursued for an FHA loan despite having previously owned a home, making them ineligible, and the loan failed just one week before the anticipated closing. I thought this was a good place at first during our first home buying experience. The previous people in our home were in a homestead account and did not pay taxes, so charter west didn’t have “enough to go off of” to estimate the amount going into escrow. Now a year and a half later, our mortgage payment went up $700.00 due to this error which wasn’t caught by either mortgage company we were with. Now we are stuck with $700 more a month, it is ridiculous and lazy to estimate such a low escrow, I’d do your research before go... read more
