Very interesting and informative tour. The Gold panning was successful and entertaining.
An inspired display worthy to visit tracing all the incredible information of the past Gold History with the people who found it. Local history abounds in this display and is a must visit to visitors to Charters Towers
We didn't enter as the price of entry was ridiculous considering the tour and then the panning was hours apart with no cafe on the premises to spend 2 hours plus between events. We had been dropped off for the duration and had to walk back into the main town after not entering. So disappointed. 2025 $70 for a combination ticket Rediculous prices for individual tickets I assume they will over haul these prices and running times soon. Interesting experience about the early days of the Charters gold rush and the process of extracting gold. Tour was short and basic and I would agree with other reviewers that I would have liked more time to wander around. Expensive for a 45 minute tour.
