View- sure, its fantastic Atmosphere- nice, comfortable, classy, tad noisy. Service- excellent. Food- good. $25 3 course meals ordered. Chicken- nice. Beef ribs- good. Coconut shrimp- probably got the best reviews. Mudpie- all but melted. Oh clam chowder... yes, very good. So all in all... The bar is the way to go- with happy hour. Go to the dining room once to say you have been there done that- then head for happy hour any other time. Same great view, nicer surroundings, good menu and prices.
We just had our dental school reunion at the Chart House in Portland. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Ann (the catering manager) was great-she basically planned the event for me and selected the best menu option for our group of 52. The tab ended up being exactly what she promised and the service was exceptional. Best View in Town! – Good service, good food, GREAT VIEW! A tad on the spendy side but this is where the birthday girl wanted to go. Food and drinks were good but nothing outstanding. If we go again, we'll probably just sit in the bar to enjoy the view.
Amazing Service – I have to say it was hard to go there after reading all this negative reviews. Bad experience.. I was hoping for a nice Christmas Eve – We came to Chart House on Christmas Eve with a party of 6; we had reservations for 8:00 PM. We arrived at 7:45.. We were told the wait would be about 15-20 minutes since they were behind... Granted it was Christmas eve and packed. We finally got seated at 9:30!!!!!!!! Great Service, Great View. – Let's start out with the good stuff : ) We arrived to be pleasantly greeted by the valet, and then the hostess. I had made our reservations via Open Table noting that we would be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. Very dissapointed night at the Chart House – Arrive at the Chart House around 7:15pm. Was greeted by a very nice valet personnel. Got into the restaurant, headed downstairs for the reserved table. Was expected to be greet by a server or somebody, but no one was there. Found our friends were sitting at the table, we then move on to the table and took our seat. about 15min later the server came and took our orders. Wonderful This restaurant is one of the premier locations for a night out for fine dining. This place is not cheap but the food is wonderful. My husband ordered the most tender steak I have ever had that had me wishing I had not ordered the salmon (though the salmon was wonderful!) The service is thoughtful. The view is spectacular.
