Awful service – Our appetizers took 30 minutes to arrive, and after waiting another 50 minutes (!) we finally asked our waiter where our main dishes were. Apparently, our ticket was "lost" and they promised the next meal out of the kitchen would be ours. That wasn't the case, and after being at the restaurant for over an hour and a half, we decided to leave and pick up something on our way home. They did at least comp us the appetizers, but didn't even apologize for the poor service. Unfortunately, this was my first Boston e... read more

Looks A LOT better than it is... – This was an unfortunate experience. We waited almost an hour 1/2 for our meals during a not busy time, our waitress was young and unexperienced, we got salmon that wasn't even cooked adequately, and the food was far too pricey for the portion size and quality. I wouldn't suggest this unless you're getting drinks or desserts. Nice view though

Solid classics in a wonderful location – There's nothing wrong with the Chart House. It's just not that exciting. The cuisine is straightforward New England and everything is solid (I've had lobster, steak and scallops), with nothing outstanding. For tourists looking for chowder, Chart House's is a little too salty for my taste. It's certainly a good location, and the bar/lounge is nice. It's just a little too old-fashioned for anything for me I think.

Something is really wrong there! – The white wine was lukewarm, the lobster bisque had a strong "burnt" taste (and whet we sent it back the waitress said: "That was out last batch". The baked potato was stale. Following the crab ($33) we did not even get a moist towel or anything to rinse our fingers. Everything else was OK.

my city restaurant – When visiting Boston I try to make at least one meal at the Chart House. The appetizers themselves make a wonderful meal! The lobster bisque - at the Boston location just can't be beat. And the coconut shrimp - perfect size and great value!

Top of the chart! – One of our favorites. The colassal shrimp cocktail and lobster spring rolls are superb appetizers. The seafood entres are well pepared and generous. We prefer the lounge & bar, where service is quick and friendly, or outside seating in good weather.

since childhood, i've dined at a Chart House at least once a year--usually the one in Simsbury CT, but the Boston one definitely has the most character. Although they easily satisfy omnivores, i have found the chefs very accomodating toward vegetarians. a pleasure

Great food; Great Service – I had a marvelous dinner... It was clear that it was a touristy type place, but that isnt always a bad thing. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was promptly brought and was very well prepared. Better seafood than Grillefish or the other big spots... and a better location. Great building.

Not Impressed – We went to the Chart House looking forward to a fantastic meal and I was very disappointed as were some of the other folks in my party. I ordered the Baked Scrod and I have never had such a tasteless fish in all my life. Even the rice that came with it had no taste. At least the appetizers were good so I feel that I had something good to eat. I won't recommend this place to anyone. And to top it off, the waiter wasn't the best either. He had a little bit of an attitude as if we were a bother to him. The hoste... read more
