Would not recommend. Key did not work in lock. Was locked out of my room. Called the help line but they were unable to locate anyone to open the door. After 40 minutes of trying door opened. Wanted different room with key that worked or money back but no one called back. No apology, no “we will make this right. We left with our luggage and didn’t return. Money wasted.

The hotel no longer has a restaurant or bar service. The owner should update their Google map listing.

To say the property is tired and in need of a significant cash investment sums it up. Self check in/self check out...never met staff

I was a little put off by absentee check-in, but management was very responsive. We asked for and received a larger room, and both were very clean and pleasant. Lots of snacks in the lobby and in the room, and we enjoyed two meals in the downstairs restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel. There are good restaurants close by, and it's convenient to visit Chincoteague and Assateague. Onancock is a lovely place for an excursion. (I got nothing in Wachapreague, however, except one nice photograph. The place was deserted.)

Friday night in May and the hotel bar is closed, restaurant closed. We had tried to make a reservation for dinner online five days before but got no answer. The gals at the front desk Friday afternoon had no idea if the restaurant bar or dining would be open. Oh well. Looks like the Charlotte is owned by a different group that is foregoing the bar and restaurant. The rooms at this hotel are still nice though.
