I recently had an appointment with Dr. Hong at the Charlotte Hall VA Clinic, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is exceptionally knowledgeable and takes the time to be incredibly thorough, ensuring every concern is addressed and every question is answered. Brought husband to Charlotte Hall Outpatient Facility 10/9, to renew his VA Healthcare ID. Was told to come back on 10/14, between 1-3 pm to get picture taken and with the gov't shut down it could take a long time but he'd be in the system and the new card would be sent. Ok..came back 10/14, before 1 pm. Reception lady said, needed to come back at 1 pm.. the lady we needed to see would be back from lunch. Trying to schedule an appointment is chaotic. It’s near impossible to reach someone and get something scheduled. You’ll ALWAYS get sent to voicemail which is always full. In the event you do speak to an actual person, the next available appointment is usually 2 months out. I will say once I’m being seen by a medical provider, their professionalism and service is great. I’m quarrel is not with the staff but the inability to schedule an appointment. Getting through on the phone is almost impossible, so they lose a star. However, the facility, the staff and the medical providers are exceptional! Just wish they would fix the phone system that seems to not have been updated since the COVID pandemic.
I had the best experience today. Today was my first visit at this clinic with a new PCM as I have just transferred from the CBOC on Allentown Road. From the friendly person that checks your ID to the check in, to the doctor and nurse- I give them all five stars for exceptional service. Nurse Donna was very personable and Dr. Wicks was amazing at listening to my complaints. She was able to address concerns I had been attempting from previous providers for the last 24 months.
