Excellent experience—very smooth service and exceptional care!
Repeated trouble despite providing all required documentation (G4 visa, W‑8BEN, U.S. address). Schwab repeatedly flagged my account as foreign, blocked ETF purchases, asked for W‑9, ignored my G4 status. After many attempts, I decided to close my account. Very disappointing for anyone with visa or nonresident tax status.
After 3months+ of trying to open a bank account with Schwab, someone from Schwab HQ had few minutes to mention we need ~$250k minimum balance to open a business/corporate bank account with schwab. After 3-4months of chatting with 10+ representatives none of which mentioned any sort of minimum balance requirement. Thankfully, I was able to open a business bank account esewhere in 10min online vs '4mo of trying with Schwab'. Also, there are no other Schwab ATMs in NoVA or most of Virginia to deposit cash into a Schwab account.... read more
Do not invest with these clowns, they will make sure the retail investors die. These mooks fleased me for 19% over 2 days because of there small account destructive policies. Placing orders you do not authorize arbitrarily to ensure loses and keep you down. TD Ameritrade was a great and far brokerage who looked out for there investors, and we took care of the company. SWAB IS DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSED TO THE SUCCESS OF THE SMALL ACCOUNT HOLDER!!!! If you are under $250k, they make sure you stay there.
This office is a bit difficult to get to, I live in pg county Maryland in district heights, and of course there is no office anywhere near my area. I had to park and walk a pretty far distance, and the building has not chosen to have handicap accessible doors. I explained what I needed to the banker, they told me they could help me and got me the paperwork. Upon further inspection at home, however, it was not correct
