We had a very distressing and unprofessional experience during what was supposed to be an initial autism evaluation intake for our son. We accepted a last-minute appointment late Thursday afternoon for a Tuesday morning slot and provided everything that was asked of us within that short timeframe. I’m sharing this for awareness purposes only. I won’t go into extreme detail but I will say this. If you EVER have to see a developmental pediatrician, stay far away from Dr. Charles Rios. He is absolutely awful, his delivery is terrible and he may tell you things like, “well, no kid is going to want to play with him” to your face - regarding your sweet 3 year old, among several other disgusting, untrue things. Called Dr Rios when my child was 3 about coming in to be diagnosed. He refused to see my child after the telephone call and told me to look into OT. OT said, they believed my child is indeed Autistic. Called Dr Rios again, to be seen, he still declined him. Put my child in Play Therapy, they said my child is Autistic but needs a medically diagnoses. Dr Rios still declined. After waiting for several months to get my child diagnosed at Psychologist office at almost 6 year olds, my child is indeed Autistic! 3 years were wasted ... read more
We had an initial evaluation for my son three years ago and we did reevaluation recently. Dr. Rios and his staff were amazing. They made us comfortable throughout the process and answered all our questions. Their customer service is excellent and they always go above and beyond to accomodate us. I am greatful for their positive contributions to my family's journey.
Dr Rios , initially evaluated my daughter at 22 months , and did her reevaluation at 5. He was very kind understanding and even shared some relatable things about himself to make me feel more comfortable and understood. This re-evaluation was something that I was needing quickly due to an opening at a school that was first come first serve. He went above and beyond and did the assessment typed and forwarded the diagnosis and paperwork same day! Thank you
