I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma in October of last year, 2019, on a spot on my nose. I was told by Dr. Mateskon that since it was a small area, the effectiveness of a radiation treatment would be 99% effective, Just as effective as Mohs. Turns out my dermatologist did a biopsy the same location as in October. I still have basal cell. I still have to have Mohs. My radiation treatment by Dr. Mateskon is now a few years ago. The treatment for prostate cancer followed the surgical removal of my prostate. The procedures and staff at Dr. Mateskon’s office were outstanding during the treatment. However, I have a radiation cyst in the bladder the bleeds episodically into my urine stream, somethings producing large hematomas and once completely blocking my urine flow. Cysts from radiation is apparently common. I was never warned about this side effect.

I would strongly recommend Dr. Mateskon for anyone dealing with cancer. When diagnosed with cancer, most patients are in a situation where they must make decisions quickly and with little information. After being diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (neck cancer), I had the luxury time to research Oncologists... and continued my research after treatment began.
