I have my blood drawn every three months and have been doing so for the past 4–5 years. I have never experienced anything like this before. The tourniquet was tied so tightly that my hand started turning purple, yet it was left on for an extended period while the nurse struggled to draw blood. Instead of removing the needle and trying again, she repeatedly pushed and moved the needle around under my skin, which was extremely painful.
