About this business
Historic Charcoal House Restaurant has been a staple of the La Mesa community since 1963. Under new management since April 2017, we have completely renovated our dining room, added a new Cigar and Hookah lounge, and rebuilding our Patio to accommodate 225 guests for outdoor dining, Cabana rentals and bottle service. We have kept many of your favorites on the menu, with a touch of new. We hope you will join us soon!

terrible food!!! – crappy food and crappy service! also heard the owner skips out on paying his maintenance ppl, what a jerk!
La Mesa steakhouse features DJs and karaoke six nights a week. – In Short Done up in retro décor and featuring a typical chophouse menu of steak and seafood, this East County restaurant is best known as a hangout for karaoke enthusiasts. A DJ keeps things moving, and the diverse crowd isn't shy about shaking booty on the dance floor. Menu specialties include chicken cordon bleu, prime rib, steaks, shrimp scampi and calamari.
TOTAL RIPOFF – Our group went to the Charcoal House recently and went into the bar for some Karaoke. I selected a song from the Karaoke book and submitted my request. Our group of eight started up a bar tab while waiting for my turn at the microphone. When it was my turn, I went up and got the microphone. The DJ asked me ?This isn?t a slow song, is it??
