I’ve been bringing my parrot here for about 20 years- Dr McDowell really knows her stuff and treats my bird like the feathered child that she is- with lots of love and compassion. I love doctor’s disposition so much that now my cats, dog and tortoise comes here too! Yes- doctor knows reptiles too! This is a wonderful animal hospital. Dr McDowell takes the time to listen to your concerns and gather all the information needed to help your pet. She specializes in birds, too, which is very hard to find. I've taken her several birds over the years for care and can't begin to tell you how wonderful she is with them. I have and will continue to recommend this place to anyone who has a pet in need of care and love.
This is the best animal hospital ever! I’ve been to quite a few vet hospitals since I own a lot of animals including dogs and birds and I love Chaparral animal hospital. They are not only caring about your furry friend but they also are very proactive with getting your animal well again. They saved my bird and my dog. If I could give this place 100 stars I would! They’re the best in town!

They are very professional and caring. I Took my dog Scotty for a back problem the veterinarian figured out the problem immediately. Scotty is doing much better. Thank you Chaparral Animal Hospital.
I have been going to Dr. McDowell and staff for close to twenty years. I recommend her to everyone for their cats, dogs and especially rabbits. To give you an idea how much I trust and appreciate them, I live almost 6 hours away now and when I come down here for work I bring my rabbits with me to see her! I can't recommend them highly enough!
Cannot say too many good things about these people! Caring, careful -- and very, very knowledgeable!
