For an 80s-style apartment, this community may be considered; however, its amenities do not meet expectations for a gated community. Upgrades are minimal, limited to a gated entry, which is easily bypassed. Both pools, including the dilapidated pool in the "gated community," which has a significant safety hazard in the former hot tub area, are accessible to all residents, compromising security. Location is good. Apts are very aged and rundown and management places cheap bandaids over issues. The manager and assistant are rude and unapproachable. Very unprofessional. Plumbing issues cause toilets to overflow and no remediation is done for sanitation of carpets, ceilings. It’s gross. Edit: The maintenance men are good guys, true.. Regarding Professionalism of “owner” and some administrative staff: The response below speaks for itself.
Highly recommend Channingway! Big pros- quiet space, the woodsy feeling in some areas, and kind and helpful management! There’s a nice feel to the neighborhood and opportunity for walks there and around the pond. Maintenance issues were always resolved in a timely manner, and the lawn/snow care is always consistently done. I’ve resided at Channingway for over three years. The neighborhood is safe, picturesque, welcoming, and peaceful. The prices are great. Maintenance is prompt, and repairs are handled in a timely manner. The management is also courteous. Although I have the choice to live at Wright-Patterson AFB, I definitely prefer Channingway.
