I want to take a moment to recognize the Emergency Department at Windber Hospital for the outstanding care and compassion I received. They took the situation seriously, acted quickly, explained what was happening, and made sure I understood what was going on with my condition and what needed to happen next. I would give zero stars if it were a option. Came in at 4 pm was waiting in the room laying in a bed as I came in for severe back pain did a CT scan and was told they send them out to be read by a contracted employee and its to be done within 1 hour its now 824 and was told to get up out of bed and go wait in the rear waiting room cause they needed the room for someone else. I’m with the previous review - if I could leave ZERO stars I would. The ER wait time is unreasonably long and the staffs attitude just plain sucks. Go anywhere else don’t even come here for a bandaid!

Best community hospital in the area hands down. Easy acess. Clean facility. Prompt, kind & knowledgeable staff. Treated like a person not a dollar sign. I would recommend this place to anyone when in need of care. Beautiful campus: walking grounds, resting benches, & beautiful scenery.
