Drove from Tehachapi, to pick up some Deep pit...Mouth was watering, the entire ride home...Made our sandwiches on the rolls, dumped, some sauce, on them.. All, I can say....Mmmmm, just like I, remembered... Just wished I would of got a side.
Fried okra, awesome! All the food was great as usual. My favorite is their gumbo, not available yesterday. Hopefully it'll be when the weather cools off again. �
The atmosphere was jovial, the service and food were just OK. I ordered the "Sweet Mess" pulled pork sandwich. It was sweet; it was pretty good and pretty messy. My objection is to the fact that there wasn't enough pork. One shouldn't have to search for the pork on a $9 sandwich.
Stopped in to see my good friend Chris today and to enjoy some real BBQ which Champs always delivers. Thank you Chris and all of your staff, Champs is the best!
