Worst manager ever... – My wife and I went out with friends (total of 10 of us) to one of your locations on Big Beaver Rd. in Troy, MI to have some drinks, dine and watch the UFC fight. It was also one of our friends birthday. We made a reservation as we always do when we go out in groups. My wife and I got there first and decided to have some drinks at the bar while waiting for the rest of the party. We got there a little bit after 9pm and the UFC PPV part was not starting until 10pm. However, the event always starts at 9pm... read more
no more happy hour...unless you like the beer of the month – my co-workers and i used to frequent champps for happy hour. then we went there and found out that corporate and basically taken away happy hour. we contacted corporate and they assured us that what we were told about the happy hour prices was not true, so we went back only to find out that corporate had lied to us and that champps was giving us the prices directed to them by corporate. they have basically gotten rid of happy hour (and now waffle fries too) and in ... read more
Sports restaurant-bar draws fans who love the food as much as the game. – In Short Using their original burgers-and-beer joint in St. Paul, Minn., as a base modl, this sports-themed chain is now a popular hangout for all ages nationwide. The memorabilia-loaded space is crowded with families and friends chatting over chili cheeseburgers, bourbon-glazed pork chops and large orders of soups and salads. On major game nights, the shiny wooden bar area is packed with small groups eyeing the monitors above while cheering or grumbli... read more

No more Happy Hour or Corporate stupidity! – My friends and I have been going to Champp's for Happy Hour regularly since it opened 9 years ago. For the first few years it was the place to be in EP. The last few years it has become just another place to go with an occasional band, bringing in a few new faces. Now they have done away with Happy Hour pricing. I guess for my friends, (18-20 of us), no good deed goes unpunished. It was a corporate decision so Eden Prairie, Richfield and Ridgedale are the only corporate Champp's i... read more
how does this work, citysearch? – how does a place which has 4 out of six reviews 2 or 3 stars still average 4 1/2 stars on citysearch?? i am becoming more and more convinced that citysearch is merely an advertising vehicle... where do you go to find out the real story on the best places in the cities?
Bad taste in my mouth – What a beautiful atmosphere...! Floor to ceiling windows, exceptional patio area, even the parking was great- but shouldn't the service reflect a positive image too??? After being Sat, Aylicia our server came over and greeted us about 10 minutes later. No greeting, no smile, no class. I asked for a water "no ice" she brings me ice water (had wisdom teeth pulled and I told her that). My date asks for a Vodka Collins, that tasted more like fermented sweet and sour then it did alcohol. No apology, not ev... read more
overpriced, overblown – Went on 4th of July and sat on the beautiful patio. Very nicely done. Food, on the other hand, was less than impressive. They had a special summer menu, with a feature Kung Pao chicken, which I normally love. While the servings were large, the taste was bland. For $15 you'd think it would be decent. I've had better takeout for a third the price. My guest ordered a nice glass of wine - twice - and they charged us $8.99 the first time, and $9.99 the second time, for the same stuff. Another friend ordere... read more
