I had my first appointment with Dr. Vanek today. He was absolutely amazing. He listened to what I had to say. He asked me every question imaginable, to try to figure out what’s wrong with me. He ran labs no other Dr. has ever even mentioned, and as soon as my labs were back he personally wrote me on MyChart just like he said he would when he first met me. I had the same Endocrinologist for 7 years and I’m so glad I chose to go for a second opinion. Also I live almost 4 hours away from OHSU, but Dr. Vanek was worth the drive.

I am probably Dr. Vanek’s biggest fan! It sucks that He doesn’t take my current insurance. I Suffered due to low cortisol most of my life, and had been repeatedly mistreated and sent home by the ER despite severe symptoms. Dr. Vanek Took it seriously, and started me on the proper medication. It feels like I was robbed of my youth By Medical misogyny, being told my symptoms were anxiety. I have been seeing Dr vanek for many years, he is a knowledgeable, no time wasted, quirky humored, understanding, supportive doc who greets his patients personally, leaving smiley halfbackedness to some of my other newer docs at OHSU, some replace my wonderful long term docs who left due to OHSU policy changes! thnx to Dr Vanek for still being there for those of us who still need quality care, efficiently!

Dr Vanek is very cool! He tells it like it is and he's very thorough in his analysis and assessments. His recommendations are practical, accessible, and totally cost optimal. He is so responsive and efficient on email- a luxurious quality to have in a good doctor!
