Had an order of the Veggie Wrap (~$7): Seasoned potato patties, cucumbers, tomatoes, cilantro, onions, shredded romaine, mint & tamarind chutney. Food was delicious, staff was discounted (as the food was taken to-go via a Yelp! deal) - but still really nice, and the ambiance was (resultantly) elsewhere - in this case Uncharted.
Good Chicken Tikka Masala – The flavor of the chicken tikka masala was very good. They were able to tone downt he spice for me without the curry seeming like it was less flavorful. Also the portions are generous for the price.
Yummy tandoori wraps – Delicious and simple indian food. Chaat, wraps and simmered dishes all for under 8-10 bucks. Lots of food, and spicy the way it should be.
Quick and yummy Indian! – I don't eat here very often just because I'm not huge into Indian food, but when I do, it's always delicious! The staff is friendly and the food is really good, and the atmosphere is casual. You can go there by yourself and sit to the side on a stool with your laptop (they have WIFi) or come with a few people and get a booth. It's a nice place for people trying out Indian for the first time, or people who like to have it everday since it's so reasonable!
Great Lunch – Chaat Cafe is becoming my favorite lunch destination. It's best to wait until noon to go as the high schoolers have moved on by then. The wraps make a delicious, filling lunch and most are priced between $5-$6. If the spice is too heavy try a mango lassi which helps cool the palate. The staff is fast and friendly.
best lunch in berkeley – Chaat is the best lunch spot in berkeley. You can find a number of great low-priced options. The delicious tandoori wraps seem to be their claim to fame, but the daily specials are my recommendation. They make a different special everyday including some curries and some tandoori dishes. The tandoori salmon on fridays is to die for and only $7.99 for a full lunch including rice, garlic naan and a small side of dal.
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – Indian mini-chain with for dine-in or takeout. Specialty naan, vegetarian dishes, daily specials.
Yum... – Very good Indian food. Casual setting with helpful and friendly staff. The stuffed naans are terrific. Strawberry Lassi (smoothie) is good. Been to three locations and they were all good.
Really Really Good – The wraps are awesome. I have never liked Indian food, but ever since my friend took me to the chaat cafe I've been hooked.
Chaat Cafe has a 3.9 star rating with 237 reviews.
